Excellon Resources – La Platosa

Excellon Resources is a Canadian company operating a silver mine in the Durango region of Mexico. The company is currently mining at a depth of around 140 meters, with the groundwater table located approximately 130 meters deep. In areas beneath the aquifer's roof, water infiltration is significant, and the pumping rate at the beginning of 2016 was 17,000 USGPM. A dewatering project is underway with the goal of increasing the pumping rate to 28,000 USGPM. To achieve this, a sequence of underground wells is under construction, with Technosub responsible for the installation of the pumps in the mine.

Hydro-Ressources is managing this dewatering project. Since 2014, our involvement has been multifaceted, including: analyzing available data, conducting pumping tests, performing tests with packers, carrying out profile tracing tests, generating velocity profiles in specific boreholes, and more.

All of this work helps identify the well locations, determine the sites for constructing galleries dedicated to pumping, and recommend the appropriate flow rates for pump installations.
