Tracer Dilution Profiles for Mine Dewatering: Approach and Case Study
Hydro-Ressources has developed an innovative method for characterizing aquifer discontinuities in fractured rock mining environments. This approach, based on Tracer Dilution Profiles (TDP), accurately identifies natural water flow zones, overcoming the limitations of traditional methods.
Successfully applied in a project in Mexico, this technique made it possible to pinpoint connected aquifer zones and create 3D maps of underground structures. As a result, two new wells were drilled, providing a total flow rate of 26,490 L/min, far surpassing the performance of existing wells.
This innovation reduces costs, optimizes mining operations, and ensures better management of water resources.
